Profile
In 1989 Dr. William Orr was recruited as the first director of research to establish a program that would integrate the research efforts at Baptist Medical Center under one administrative umbrella. The Lynn Health Science Institute was developed in Oklahoma City from the Department of Research at Baptist Medical Center under the guidance of Dr. Orr and Thomas Lynn, M.D., Vice President for Medical Affairs. On July 1, 1997, the Lynn Health Science Institute became a separate entity, continuing its research as a private organization and building on its reputation already established in the pharmaceutical industry and scientific community. On August 15, 2002, the Institute established a second site, the Lynn Institute of the Rockies, in Colorado Springs. The Pueblo Campus was established in January 2005. The Institute works jointly with the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center on some projects, with expectations of similar activity with staff of the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs and the United States Air Force Academy in the near future.
