Company Profile

Goals:

To provide friendly and professional environment for our patients and guests. To provide a working
environment that enables employees to maximize their potential. To conduct research that represents the highest scientific standards. To conduct clinical trials for the purpose of expanding knowledge to provide
new treatments and improve patient quality of life.

In operation since 1989, the Lynn Health Science Institute (LHSI) is an innovative site for comprehensive medical research.

Geographically situated in the heartland of the United States, LHSI is located in the greater Oklahoma City metropolitan area with a total population of just over a million people. LHSI provides an ideal combination of factors for pharmaceutical companies and others seeking reliable, quality-conscious clinical trials and scientific medical research.  Since its beginning as a research division of one of the Southwest’s largest medical centers, the institute has specialized in conducting research with a highly trained professional staff.  The LHSI staff includes both MDs and PhDs who are widely known within the scientific and research communities.

The focus on practical, applied medical issues enables LHSI to rapidly recruit patient volunteers from a quality database that is nearly a mirror image of national demographics.  The staff at the institute is knowledgeable and experienced and can provide fast study start-up and effective FDA and IRB submission and coordination. History:

In 1989 Dr. William Orr was recruited as the first director of research to establish a program that would integrate the research efforts at Baptist Medical Center under one administrative umbrella. The Lynn Health Science Institute was developed in Oklahoma City from the Department of Research at Baptist Medical Center under the guidance of Dr. Orr and Thomas Lynn, M.D., Vice President for Medical Affairs. On July 1, 1997, the Lynn Health Science Institute became a separate entity, continuing its research as a private organization and building on its reputation already established in the pharmaceutical industry and scientific community.  On August 15, 2002, the Institute established a second site, Lynn Institute of the Rockies, in Colorado Springs, Colorado and in January of 2005 the Pueblo, Colorado Campus was established.  In April of 2005, LION Research (Lynn Institute of Norman), in Norman, Oklahoma was established.  The Institute works jointly with the University of Oklahoma Medical School on some projects, with expectations of similar activity with staff of the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs and the United States Air Force Academy in the near future.
