The sleep facility at the Lynn
Health Science Institute is a six bed, full service laboratory primarily
devoted
to sleep research. Numerous projects are ongoing at all times,
and the professional staff has been published extensively in medical literature.
The facility also provides diagnostic evaluations for both pediatric and
adult patients. Studies include full polysomnography, CPAP titration,
multiple sleep latency testing (MSLT),
and other specialized testing which
may be required to diagnose seizure disorders or other sleep related movement
disorders. The experienced staff of the sleep laboratory tailors studies
to the specific needs of each patient and their referring physician.
Our President / CEO, William
C. Orr, Ph.D., established the first clinical sleep facility in Oklahoma,
in 1975, and was among the first individual specialists in the nation
to be certified in sleep disorders medicine. Medical Directors Dr. Norman
Imes and Dr. Ahzar Khan have extensive experience in sleep medicine and
are recognized experts in this specialized area of medicine. The sleep
facility also has access to specialists in pulmonology, pediatric pulmonology,
neurology, otolaryngology, and cardiology.
Our service is extraordinary.
Sleep studies are scheduled within two weeks and doctors will receive a faxed confirmation of the date for the study. Written reports
on the results are prepared within four business days
of the completion
of the study. We will file for approval as an out of network provider
on any insurance plan that does not currently list us as a preferred provider.
